Immigration is the act of leaving your country of origin and moving to another country in the hopes of establishing permanent residency in that country. There is another type of immigration whereby you can obtain citizenship without having to move from your homeland.
Under the approval of the International Declaration of Human Rights, everyone has the right to freedom of movement and secure residency within the borders of each country. Everyone has the right to leave any country including his own and to return to his own country of origin.
Immigrating to a different country gives you the opportunity to explore and secure whatever that country has to offer. Each country is unique and it will do you good to study and understand the laws and opportunities offered in that country in relation to your needs. There are various ways to obtain permanent residency and each methods are generally similar in all countries with slight variations. It depends on the economic and social stability and needs of the country. For instance, Canada, Great Britain and other industrialized nation supports a point system and are constantly embracing independent immigrants, investors and skilled workers who can contribute to its social and economic development. The United States offers Green Card lottery programs to immigrants in many countries for exactly the same reason. There are countries that completely observe the convention of the United Nations under the rights of refugees. These countries accept refugee claims and immigrants seeking asylum who are in danger in their homeland.
