NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions,Rules and Regulations
The NCAA is made up of 977 schools divided into three divisions. Division one has 318 schools, Division two has 264 and Division three has 395 schools. Division one and Division two offer athletic scholarships. Division three does not offer athletic scholarships, however, academic scholarships are available. The NAIA is comprised of 331 four-year accredited colleges and universities not governed by the NCAA. They do give athletic scholarships and many have very competitive athletic programs as well as excellent academic programs.
